As of late there has been an influx of underage gastronomes. Back in January I
cooed about Julian Kreusser who hosts his own cooking show on Portland public access television,
Big Kitchen With Food. 4 year old Dexter Welles's has NYT column,
Cooking with Dexter, (written by dear ol' dad, NYT Food Editor Pete Welles) dedicated to his parent-proclaimed "genius." David Fishmen, at a ripe age of 12, has spun out
restaurant reviews for the NYT. Slate
deconstructs the kiddie cook fad complaining that "it has got to go." This trend smacks of persistent epicurean parents in the kitchen rather than wunderkind chefs. The next "it" chefs & critics, these kids are not, but that doesn't mean they're not as cute as a pea in a pod!

Oh my gosh! That's really funny!
Although a nine-year old I babysat last year DID correct his mother on the proper way to julienne a carrot...I witnessed it!
P.S. I can not wait until you get your personal chef stuff set up...good luck with all that!
